Relations of Practice
Lineages
& Relations
the work does not begin alone
Deep Time Lab has been shaped through teachers, texts, cohorts,
practices, places, and sustained relations. These acknowledgements
name some of the streams through which the work has learned to move.

001 / human teachers and facilitators
Teachers.
01
Teacher · transmitted practice
Liu Ming
Daoist Path Dreaming
Through Liu Ming’s teaching, I encountered dreaming as a path
of practice rather than a collection of symbols to decode.
Daoist Path Dreaming shaped my attention to nondual perception,
embodiment, season, change, and the subtle movements through
which a life reveals its direction.
02
Artist · ritual performance
Dare Carasquillo
DeathPractice and DeathClown
Dare Carasquillo’s DeathPractice and DeathClown work taught me that mortality,
ritual, absurdity, play, grief, and performance do not need to
be kept separate. This lineage helped me approach
death without stripping it of humor, strangeness, embodiment,
or creative possibility.
03
Teacher · theoretical inheritance
Judy Grahn
Metaformic Theory
Judy Grahn’s Metaformic Theory gave me language for bodily
processes as world-making practices. Her work has shaped how I
think about ritual technologies, menstrual origins, cultural
memory, and forms nested within forms.

Larissa Kaul
The Bleeding Circle
Through Larissa Kaul and The Bleeding Circle, I learned to
approach bleeding as embodied knowledge, ritual threshold, and
collective practice. The circle also introduced constellation
practices for externalizing a field through spatial
relationship and embodied participation.
002 / textual and astrological inheritance
Texts and traditions.
05
Ancient text · astrological inheritance
Claudius Ptolemy
Tetrabiblos
The Tetrabiblos belongs to the textual inheritance
through which I study Hellenistic astrology. I receive it not
as a closed authority, but as part of a long and complicated
transmission: an instrument to study, question, inhabit, and
bring into living relation through timecraft.
003 / more-than-human relations
Waters.
Estuary is shaped through relationship with a constellation of waters.
These bodies do not function as symbols alone. They are living places,
carriers of memory, routes of connection, and participants in the
conditions from which the work emerges.
06
Creek · daily relation · immediate watershed
Nishisakawick Creek
Lenapehoking
Nishisakawick Creek is the water I live beside now: a daily relation
moving past the edge of home and into the Lenapewihittuk Delaware River. Through
seasonal change, flooding, erosion, plant life, animal life, and
accumulated histories, the creek participates directly in the
conditions of Estuary.
07
River · connective current · watershed relation
Lenapewihittuk
Lenapehoking
Lenapewihittuk, or the so-called Delaware River is the larger current into which Nishisakawick
Creek enters. It connects my present home to the tidal waters of
Trenton, where I grew up, and continues onward toward the bay and
ocean. It holds the project within a watershed larger than any one
site or moment.
08
Bay · childhood water · ancestral memory
Barnegat Bay
Tidal memory · family relation
Barnegat Bay carries the waters of my childhood: fishing, crabbing,
clamming, boats, marshes, and summers near Toms River and Seaside.
My father’s ashes were given to these waters. The bay remains a place
where memory, kinship, grief, pleasure, and tidal knowledge continue
to meet.
09
Coastal inlet · surrounding water · geographic relation
Nolletquesset
Atlantic watershed
Nolletquesset or so-called Shark River belongs to the coastal waters that have shaped the
geography of my life. Alongside the Delaware River and Barnegat Bay,
it forms part of the wider watery field surrounding the land I call
home.
These waters surround and connect the land on which I live. Estuary
emerges within that geography: creek, river, bay, inlet, and ocean held
in continuous relation.
Naming Lenapehoking acknowledges the Indigenous land and waters within
which this practice takes place. It is not a claim of Lenape lineage or
authority.
